Over 30 years of looking through the back of a camera I have evolved a heightened sensibility towards composition and appreciation of the play of light.

It can sometimes be a subtle difference between the mundane and the elevated when framing an image and the challenge of distinguishing between the two is what keeps me inspired and moving forward with my work.

Country Australia holds the history of my family but it also holds a fascination for me, always has, often staggeringly beautiful but in equal measures harsh and challenging.

It’s within this backdrop that I like to explore and create.

I don’t want my work to be perceived as a negative view of the country that would be a failure. Instead I want it to uncover how when certain elements in a landscape are rendered together an image can be lifted out of it that can be moving, beautiful or even both at the same time.
